The Company

Our client is a widely recognised Specialist Life Assurance Company, serving thousands of customers with bespoke insurance products tailored for each phase of their lives. The company is aimed at improving the quality of life of clients by providing prompt and quality Insurance service delivery. The company offers a wide range of insurance products such as annuity, investment plans, group life plans, etc.

Job Purpose

The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for leading the company’s sales initiatives and will support and guide internal and external relationships. They will direct business development activities of the organisation and drive the new sales business of the company as it plays a key role in the company’s bottom line.

Primary Objectives

•Facilitation of growth, sales and marketing strategy
•Revenue generation and cost reduction
•Define marketing strategies to support the company’s overall strategies and objectives

Duties and Responsibilities

•Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational marketing and customer relationship activities
•Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas
•Take ownership of the management of the sales and marketing functions of the business;
•Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company`s ambitious growth
•Work with stringent targets and adopt a professional and knowledgeable approach to each new business call
•Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets
•Inform current and potential partners about key business developments
•Manage existing partnerships
•Enforce company policies consistently and fairly
•Develop and organise new business development initiatives

Skills & Competencies

•Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team
•Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as well as negotiation and persuasion abilities
•Demonstrate flexibility and a passion for customer advocacy
•Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, brand, product and service management
•Deep understanding of changing market dynamics
•Entrepreneurial spirit and has the ability to network and leverage contacts effectively
•Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
•Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads

Qualifications

•Minimum of seven [7] years work experience in a related industry
•Minimum of a first degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline
•MBA or Masters in a related discipline is required
•Membership of a relevant professional institution is required
